Yesterday, Mike Cope wrote the following on his blog:
“God is working to repair this world. He’s doing it in obvious ways; mostly, he’s doing it in ways that don’t catch headlines. The whole mustard seed thing, you know. He’s inviting us to join him in that. In big ways, and small ways. Keep your eyes open today for opportunities.”
I believe these words. God is at work, mostly in small ways, I think. In ways that you wouldn’t see if you weren’t looking for them. It’s beautiful, really, this subtle intersection of the divine with the finite. How he weaves himself into the fabric of our world, threads of his goodness binding everything together.
And so many miss it.
I hope I don’t miss it. I hope, I pray that he will open my eyes more each day. I’m reminded of a prayer a friend of mine, Dara, prays: “God, give me eyes that see, ears that hear and a heart that understands.” Yes.
May you see God at work on your world today.
